About Me

IMG_6700.jpg

In my San Francisco based private practice I focus on an array of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, trauma, relationship issues, substance abuse, self-esteem, grief and loss, and counseling for issues related to fertility. With empathy, humor, and sensitivity, my goal is to create a space in which to build the therapeutic relationship while cultivating your interpersonal relationships and understanding of yourself. Who I am in life is who I bring to our therapeutic relationship. Having grown up on a small farm in Canada and transitioned to living in cities all over North America, I bring a grounded and diverse perspective to our sessions.

With a passion for supporting prospective parents and families through pregnancy and into parenthood, I pursued a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology in Southern California, specializing in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology, and furthered my education by completing a PhD degree in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist I pair my extensive education with life experiences to provide a holistic approach to therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospital outpatient clinics, court mandated perinatal programs, residential and outpatient substance abuse centers, employee assistance programs, and private practice. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach that incorporates several therapeutic modalities such as psychodynamic theory, CBT, somatic work, and person-centered therapy in order to meet the unique needs of each individual.

It is a privilege to be granted the opportunity to support others as they move through life's challenges and triumphs, and it is my ultimate goal to help you develop the tools to create a richer and more fulfilling life.
